Things that are making me smile,a tidy living room and some thrifty bits.

Hello everyone!

The view from my front door always involves an old Land Rover of some sort. This orange one is at least a cheery colour. I want an orange car!

Mr Betty keeping his business cards in an old Rubiks Cube. Bless him.

Our new super duper coffee maker. Bit pricey for us and our thrifty ways but it does save money if one can enjoy a nice coffee at home without going out and paying Costa prices.

This arrived yesterday. It is supposed to be my surprise mothers day present.....bit of a giveaway?

This picture of my big boys when they were little. They loved their long locks (but not each other) and I have been looking at this pic today and wondering where that time has gone :(

My newly tidied and organised living room. I have bought my sewing machine down and set up my desk so that I can stitch downstairs and chat to Mr Betty. He is sat at his desk just around the corner, not sure if he is appreciating the groan of my little sewing machine as he tries to make his very important business calls. Ah well!

I am enjoying the world of Twitter. I didn't really get it til a couple of weeks ago but now I am a real tweeter. I have got some brilliant followers and have been in touch with someone who will also be selling at the Altrincham Vintage Market on Sunday.
This will be my first time at this event. It is called Magpies and I.
I am a little nervous but I am also very excited.
It starts at 11.00am (bit of a lie in,whoop) and finishes at 3.30. Come along if you can.

A small selection of thrifted goods from this weeks mooch. I have only been on 1 search this week. I met a friend for a coffee and as there were 2 charity shops on the same run of shops we decided it would be rude not to pop in and have a quick scan.
Here's what I bought home.
7 Johnson Bros side plates that will add to my mismatched blue and white dinner service of sorts.
4 really good quality sewing patterns. Gorgeous clothes.
A Figgjo Flameware skillet.
A small version of a jug I keep my knitting needles in, perfect for all my crochet hooks.
On a light hearted note, I purchased a very vintage bar of 'lifebuoy' soap for Mr Betty. I will laugh if he uses it. Probably get a rash.
Don't forget to enter my Springy Thingy giveaway here.
Thanks for reading.x

  2. Hold on a minute....HOW have we not met??!
Although I recognise your blogname - and I'm guessing from your blogroll that you are a pal of my friend janes (she of the teawaggon!)?
Anyway - we are regulars at the Altrincham market - and have been on the verge of nooking ourselves a table for some time now.
Right - I heard that you simply 'get' twitter all of a sudden - then you're away. I've been waiting a while - still nothing. Just do not understand.
Anyway- thanks for popping over to mine, lovely to meet you, and maybe see you in Altrincham!
    fee x
I love HOW you're justifying a coffee machine - I need a new one (old one worn out) and am thinking of going along these lines.

    1. Hello again (just replied to other message).
Please come and see me at Altrincham, I am a bit scared! I am in the 'overflow' area which all sounds a bit toilet related.
      It should be good.
You have to get a spanky coffee machine, it is an absolute must for a happy life. X

  5. Hello! Thanks for the follow, trying to catch up on all my blogging and have come over to say hi. Lovely looking house you have - I yearn for those days when everything is tidy at once but they are rare as I have 2 boys of about the same age as yours are in the photo (very cute)

***To those I follow and who follow me - is my blog appearing on your dashboard? Blogger appears to be losing some blogs I follow!**

    1. Hi, very rarely that tidy I must admit. I have 3 boys and I find that Lego, odd socks and fart smells are a continuous problem.
Thanks for popping over to my blog. Emma. X

    1. hi DV, can you imagine how much money we could save on house magazines if we all did a house snooping blog. Might picture my kitchen next, will need a few days to clean and tidy beforehand.
Thanks for the fair encouragement. X
