photo bombers

 Hello!
My home at the end of the runway was recently used as a location for a photo shoot. The pictures will appear in a two brand new magazines, Crochet Now and Patchwork Now.
These are new additions to Sewing Now.
I thought I would take the 'tidy house' opportunity and share a few sunny shots.

You may notice a couple of photo bombers and I felt it only fair if I gave the cheeky pair a close-up too.
It is quite obvious that they both love a photo shoot!

Both magazines are due on the shelves next month (July).
I am rather excited about being a backdrop and I am kind of hoping that it reignites my love of crochet.

Bella is a miniature schnauzer. We rehomed her a couple of months ago, she is 4.
She is such a good dog and I am enjoying getting out and about with her.
We just spent our first holiday together and she was smiling the whole time!

Thanks for reading. x

I love this house part 2 - revisited

Hello!
I have not done an 'I love this house' post for a while, this one is spesh!
Back in June I blogged about this house, a house I love and since then Jayne, the homeowner, has had some major work done extending her kitchen and living room.
The results are just brilliant.

Jayne has such great style, I couldn't wait to get round there with my camera.
Not a difficult place to photograph as you will see.

love the yellow, love the cushions

great decision to leave the beams exposed

wallpaper envy!

the simple white kitchen is the perfect backdrop for all Jaynes  kitchenalia

Jayne is still pottling and planning in her newly extended house, and I am sure there will be lots of little changes, I absolutely love it.
Her use of colour is inspiring and it makes for such a cozy, fun family home.
Jayne loves to entertain and the kitchen is now perfect for get togethers with a large extending table that seats 10 and a sofa looking out to the garden.
Her living room has virtually doubled in size and now has room for a fantastic corner sofa. Jayne tells me her boys love the new room and her husband has been able to set up his much loved record deck in the extended space.
I am always inspired to be more daring with colour when I come back from a visit to Jaynes house which is not a bad thing, we all need colour in our lives!!

Crafty Mag and Me part 2

Hello!

Did you get issue 6 of Crafty Mag?
My home was featured as I mentioned in a previous post, and the lovely people over at Crafty have also added a few extra pics to their blog page.
If you haven't already visited the Crafty Mag blog, you absolutely must...you can find it here

Just by way of having some super professional pics on my blog for a change I thought I would share them here too.

What was mentioned a lot in the article, was how much my home is filled with things that other makers have made.
I love the fact that this came through and I like the fact that I can mention some people whose gorgeous makes appear amongst the pictures in the magazine.

Quite a few cushions and critters made by the lovely Jodi-Jo Retro
Patchwork, Owl, origami birds and macrame made by my besty Little Teawagon
Bird picture by blog friend Hey Homewrecker
Quite a few purchases from one of my most fave shops Lapin and Me
and a cushion made by my gorgeous friend Vanessa of Den at Beechwood
A picture of Ophelia Buttons girls
....and quite a bit of Ikea ;-)

I will not be mentioning my magazine fame anymore for fear of me getting a big head (to go with my big hair).
Tell you what immediately brings any head swelling down....dirty grundys!!
I'm off to do some much needed laundry type chores

btw...Maurice has just been featured in Reloved Magazine

Don't say anything, it is all about Maurice!!!

Things That Are Making Me Smile

I have been so useless of late.
No blogging, minimal Instagramming, quite a lot of doing nothing really.
As a mum, I am enjoying the lazy mornings but I cannot lie, I am quite keen to get them back at school/college (such a bad person).
I am sick of making cheese toasties...dropping off/picking up and the ridiculous amounts of washing.

Sorry to moan, I love them all dearly...most of the time ;-0

Luckily for me, there are a few things that are making me smile through the pain.

love these ever changing shelves

mother made me a patchy blankie

I treated myself to some new Washi tapes

quite enjoying old cans
this one is full of homegrown herbs

Maurice has been organised to within an inch of his life

thrifted jumble sale fabrics

colourful vintage kiddo cupboard stuff

loving my Pinstagram prints

gorgeous, very personal blocks from this lovely lady

my funny boy and his snake (they are inseparable)

I hope my pics made you smile too and I am very much planning on putting a bit more effort in on this here blog.
Don't hold me to that though will you?
