A LITTLE PIECE OF MAURICE

hello!

yesterday was a good day and today has been a good day too

my stall at Vintage Village was a triumph, if I do say so myself

apologies, no photos and I will explain

my stall was looking tippity top for all of about 10 minutes and then a very nice couple rocked up and bought 50% of my treasures

this is what every stallie wants, don't get me wrong. thing is, my stall didn't look so tiptop for the rest of the day

apologies to Crafting Not Cleaning who very kindly paid me a visit. if you are nice enough to visit again I will make absolutely sure that I have a good stash of back up stock

anyway, on with some other stuff

today I have been on a mooch with OOB

whilst on our travels I picked up a few goodies, one of then being just perfect for Maurice my 1970s Sprite 400 caravan workroom

on my return I was just itching to hook up with maurice for a couple of hours and introduce him to his new accessory

this very quickly turned into a full on sprucing session

 (if only I could put as much effort into the household chores)

and I thought to myself, whilst spending some time with Maurice, that I had been oh so lucky to find the most perfect caravan wallpaper

and then I wondered if anyone else would like a roll for themselves

I would like to giveaway my last roll of this most lovely, easy to use wallpaper

it is just lovely

it is pink, it stores Sylko cottons and dress pins and it will even come with vintage wooden bobbins included

(I will probs send it all 2nd class if that is ok. the postage costs? what's going on?)

I have just spent a lovely half hour, eating cake and drinking tea, whilst watching Mr Betty do something noisy with a metal thing

Spring has most definitely arrived :)

Me and Maurice

Times have been hard for Maurice and myself of late.

Our relationship has been on icy ground, literally.

Over the last few weeks I have neglected him, due to the cold weather.

My little oil filled radiator just hasn't been up to the job of transforming Maurice from what can only be described as an ice box, into what he used to be, a cozy little retreat.

Here in Manchester, shocking as this may be, it has actually warmed up a little (or maybe I have a temperature). This morning, Maurice and I have reunited. It was a beautiful moment, even if I did ruin it by wearing my scruffy joggers.

I thought I would celebrate our moment of glory with a few snippets of Maurice.

Snippets only, due to the need for a Spring sort out of quite serious proportions.

It does seem, that when Maurice and I get together, I become a lot more inspired and  (praise the lord ) a bit more productive.

I have just paid 'Mothers Sweat Shop' a visit with an order for half a dozen black and white striped sweaters. This critter is a real bad-un.

He makes Mr Fox look like a bit of a Nancy.

Mr Raccoon is 'on the run'.

Maurice the Caravan!!

Well, I think the time has come.
If I leave this post too much longer my Sprite 400 caravan will be embarrassingly messy.
I am slightly nervous truth be told.

I have spent a few happy days working in my little caravan workroom in the last week. It now feels like I have had Maurice forever.
 I have a little radiator to keep my toes warm. I have my digital radio for a bit of Jeremy Vine (I heart Jeremy).
Mr Betty brings me a cup of tea every hour or so. If he doesn't I ring him ;)

In the corner is a chair for anyone that wishes to visit Maurice and myself. My caravan door is always open.....actually it's not but a little tappity tap on the door and I will be there in a jiffy.

Littlest has his very own space too.
If I am busy at my little pink sewing machine he can be right near me.
He loves drawing and has penned a number of robot war scenes for the caravan walls.

My desk and handy dandy drawers fit perfectly. I have used the original caravan fabric to put a fancy skirt around my desk.

I have cosy teaky wooden flooring courtesy of Mr Betty, there was quite a bit of bad language during the installation of said flooring and at times I was forced hike up the volume on my digital radio.

I don't think I can put into words how much I love my new workroom.
You can be sure that there will be changes in the future. New additions to the walls, a change of curtains....a rug..thats what is so much fun!
I hope you love it as much as I do and I hope it shows what can be done with a small space and an even smaller budget. Every crafty soul should have their very own place.

Tonight I will be doing some more prep for a fair I am doing on Sunday.
I will be back with all the details tomorrow. It is craft, not Vintage, so I have been a very busy Miss Lizzy.

Hard At It...

Hello!


Today I have spent pretty much all day holed up in my new, bijou work room.....more on that later.

What have you been doing I hear you ask.
I have been busy making foxes I answer politely.
Pesky little foxes might I add.

               And I have been making boxes for those pesky little foxes. 

        

I have also been busy developing my new kitty packaging and all will be revealed tomorrow, if I have time. I do need to focus on Saturdays fair and OOB (other Oooh Betty) and I will be having a major conflab tomorrow which will require seriousness, coffee and I am hoping some of her world famous lentil soup!

The fair is all about crafts and vintage. There is also a record fair for the blokes (this is how we sell it to them).

It is being held at 2022NQ which is on Dale street, Manchester in the Northen Quarter. A very trendy part of town which suits as I myself can sometimes be trendy when the need arises.

We will be appearing in all our glory (not naked, are you mad?) from 12 onwards and we have some cool stuff....sneaky pre peek tomorrow.

Talking of sneaky pre peeks, and on to my bijou workroom, I have caravan news.

Maurice is complete!

Mr Betty and I worked ourselves flat out....not like that you filthy lot...

I am only ready to give a peek at the mo.

Not too sure why? I tell you everything!

Maybe I need to keep it for myself for a bit ;)

I'm not sure.

I will be talking about Maurice a lot more very soon but what I can say is that I absolutely love him.

He has heat, he has tunes (radio 2/radio 6M) and I can pop in to the west wing of the house and get hot tea whenever the mood takes me.

I can't wait to show you around properly.
