Maurice - Pop Up Shop

                                                                          Hello!
The last few days have been just a little hectic.
I have had a trip to Harrrogate, a Secret Tea Party, A Lo-Fi Christmas Party, a trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets but more than anything I have been working with Maurice, out on the drive.

Maurice has been a bit redundant since the weather turned chilly.
I was finding it hard to look at him through the window…all neglected and lonesome.
but then an idea sprang to mind, a most brill idea.
Could Maurice become a little mobile shop for an upcoming special event?
Could that event be the Vintage Village Christmas Market weekend spectacular?

After a chat and a coffee with Mrs Vintage Village maurice and I were in.
I have not been so excited about anything in quite a while!

Maurice would get a new special Christmas coat
Maurice would spill vintage treasure from his door, suitcases, mirrors, toys….
Inside he would become a sleek, retro inspired gift shop.
He would sell the best PRINTS
His little sliding doors would be slid right back to reveal pretty pottery and retro plastics.

Now let me tell you something in a bossy fashion if I may (I'm going to anyway).
I have kept a lot of treasure in my secret treasure chest, out of sight of my camera.
The pictures you see above are a mere taster of what is to come, mere snippets of how Maurice will look on the day.
I will be at Vintage Village, with Maurice on Friday, Saturday and of course, the biggie, Sunday
You absolutely must come and visit us.
It is not to be missed!!

Come and say hi, there will be a spare seat in Maurice if you need to rest those weary shopping feet.
Thanks for reading. x

Crafty Mag and Me part 2

Hello!

Did you get issue 6 of Crafty Mag?
My home was featured as I mentioned in a previous post, and the lovely people over at Crafty have also added a few extra pics to their blog page.
If you haven't already visited the Crafty Mag blog, you absolutely must...you can find it here

Just by way of having some super professional pics on my blog for a change I thought I would share them here too.

What was mentioned a lot in the article, was how much my home is filled with things that other makers have made.
I love the fact that this came through and I like the fact that I can mention some people whose gorgeous makes appear amongst the pictures in the magazine.

Quite a few cushions and critters made by the lovely Jodi-Jo Retro
Patchwork, Owl, origami birds and macrame made by my besty Little Teawagon
Bird picture by blog friend Hey Homewrecker
Quite a few purchases from one of my most fave shops Lapin and Me
and a cushion made by my gorgeous friend Vanessa of Den at Beechwood
A picture of Ophelia Buttons girls
....and quite a bit of Ikea ;-)

I will not be mentioning my magazine fame anymore for fear of me getting a big head (to go with my big hair).
Tell you what immediately brings any head swelling down....dirty grundys!!
I'm off to do some much needed laundry type chores

btw...Maurice has just been featured in Reloved Magazine

Don't say anything, it is all about Maurice!!!

Maurice the Caravan!!

Well, I think the time has come.
If I leave this post too much longer my Sprite 400 caravan will be embarrassingly messy.
I am slightly nervous truth be told.

I have spent a few happy days working in my little caravan workroom in the last week. It now feels like I have had Maurice forever.
I have a little radiator to keep my toes warm. I have my digital radio for a bit of Jeremy Vine (I heart Jeremy).
Mr Betty brings me a cup of tea every hour or so. If he doesn't I ring him ;)

In the corner is a chair for anyone that wishes to visit Maurice and myself. My caravan door is always open.....actually it's not but a little tappity tap on the door and I will be there in a jiffy.

Littlest has his very own space too.
If I am busy at my little pink sewing machine he can be right near me.
He loves drawing and has penned a number of robot war scenes for the caravan walls.

My desk and handy dandy drawers fit perfectly. I have used the original caravan fabric to put a fancy skirt around my desk.

I have cosy teaky wooden flooring courtesy of Mr Betty, there was quite a bit of bad language during the installation of said flooring and at times I was forced hike up the volume on my digital radio.

I don't think I can put into words how much I love my new workroom.
You can be sure that there will be changes in the future. New additions to the walls, a change of curtains....a rug..thats what is so much fun!
I hope you love it as much as I do and I hope it shows what can be done with a small space and an even smaller budget. Every crafty soul should have their very own place.

Tonight I will be doing some more prep for a fair I am doing on Sunday.
I will be back with all the details tomorrow. It is craft, not Vintage, so I have been a very busy Miss Lizzy.

Thanks for reading. x
